Here’s the story of how Leigh started RE Wellness: HighlandVillageJxn.com & GoSolo.com

Leigh’s practice is shaped by curiosity-driven research, the importance of story, the uniqueness of the individual, the power of choices, and the practice of compassion.

Leigh was excited to become the first Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner in Jackson in Dec 2023, and only one of three in all of Mississippi!

  • Leigh has always enjoyed being in motion from horseback riding and weightlifting in her younger years to jogging, cycling, and triathlons and now yoga and strength training.

Every early spring finds her in the back yard preparing her raised garden beds for summer vegetables and herbs.

She is a voracious reader and loves many genres but faithfully finds her way back to criminal fiction.

Being in nature is one of Leigh’s high joys, and she regularly travels to the Rockies to satisfy the hiking “itch.” She plans on summiting a 14-er soon.

  • Ever a lifelong learner, Leigh’s passion is discovering more and more how the body has the innate intelligence to heal itself if given the right environment. She loves how food is medicine, so eat your medicine!

Practicing meditation has been a recent addition to her life with healing results.

At home, Leigh is married to Brian and together they have six daughters. As a blended family, their story is The Parent Trap meets The Brady Bunch. Their marriage has been a place of delight and strength since 2012.

Jolie Herndon, BSN RN
Registered Nurse

Bachelor of Science in Nursing,
Mississippi College
Birth Doula, Doulas of North America

A native Mississippian, Jolie appreciates a beautiful pine forest in the early mornings or late evenings, especially after reading a Psalm. She finds it exhilarating to discover answers to “why” questions and to expand the horizons of her knowledge. She loves to connect with people’s stories.

Joining RE Wellness dovetails with her natural inquisitiveness towards recovering and optimizing health. Jolie’s interests include: discovering how to include nutritious foods with affordability in mind, perfecting "made from scratch" recipes, and reading classic novels.

At home, she, her husband, and her four kids enjoy traveling, crazy game nights, and working on DIY projects from cars to home renovations.

Jolie is thrilled to be a part of RE Wellness and its needed services to the greater metro Jackson area.

Laurie Jones, MFCS, RD, LD
Patient Care Coordinator

Bachelor of Science in Psychology,

Laurie became interested in nutrition and fitness at a young age, and a college class in nutraceuticals inspired her to continue learning about natural and alternative approaches to health.

As a registered dietitian, Laurie believes in the power of food to heal as part of a whole-person approach to health and that simple lifestyle changes can empower patients to find wellness in all areas of their lives.

Laurie grew up in the Memphis area. She attended Mississippi College, where she met her husband Brandon. After living in Georgia and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, they moved to Madison, where Brandon is an attorney and their kids are involved in sports, music, and art.

When not transporting kids to activities, you’ll find Laurie reading, walking her Boston Terrier, or making kombucha. She is excited to be a part of the RE Wellness team.
